Our story

Clinical knowledge. Family perspective. Human care.

Kelton Company was founded in Ocean Beach, San Diego, with a simple goal: make high-quality behavioral support more personal, more practical, and easier for families to understand.

Why we exist

Families deserve clarity—not another system to decode.

Too often, caregivers receive a diagnosis, a list of acronyms, and pressure to make fast decisions. We want to be the place that slows the conversation down.

That means offering useful information before asking for anything, speaking in plain language, being honest about fit and availability, and building care around outcomes that make everyday life more possible.

Meet the people

A small practice with direct clinical leadership.

Founder & Clinical Director

David Kelton, BCBA

David is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst focused on individualized, evidence-informed support for children and families. He leads clinical care with an emphasis on meaningful goals, ethical practice, caregiver collaboration, and practical progress across everyday settings.

Community & Family Specialist

Kayla Kelton

Kayla supports family engagement, community relationships, and resource navigation. Her role helps ensure that caregivers feel heard, informed, and connected throughout their experience with Kelton Company.

Why a small practice matters Families should know who is guiding their care. Kelton Company keeps clinical leadership close to the work so questions, feedback, and decisions do not disappear into layers of administration.
Our clinical commitments

What families should be able to expect.

Listen first

We begin with strengths, preferences, communication, caregiver priorities, and the contexts that shape daily life.

Explain clearly

Recommendations, roles, goals, progress, coverage questions, and uncertainties should be understandable.

Protect dignity

Support should expand communication, access, safety, choice, and independence—not suppress harmless differences.

Review honestly

We use data and family feedback to evaluate progress, adjust plans, and discuss transition when care is no longer helping.

The broader mission

More than a therapy website.

We are building Kelton Company into a trusted information hub for California caregivers—whether a family needs early-intervention contacts, school guidance, questions for a provider, or simply a calm place to begin.
